PC gamers should be thrilled that the popular Dead Rising 3 is now available in PC format. It’s now 16 years after the initial outbreak of the virus has occurred and for the most part, government agencies have it contained. However, a glitch causes another outbreak. Can you make it out of Los Perdidos before the government steps in?
This PC version of Dead Rising 3 comes with all of the four Untold Stories of Los Perdidos DLC packs. In this instalment, you are Nick Ramos and are placed 16 years after the initial outbreak as told in the first game. The government has contained the deadly virus, implanting infected individuals with chips that administer a drug called Zombres that prevents the progression of the virus. However, as one would expect, a glitch causes one of the chips to malfunction, resulting in a second outbreak.
As the hero, you have to search for survivors and bring them safely back to a fortified stronghold and gather supplies. You will have to use quick reflexes if you want to survive. Fortunately, your character is rather industrious and can turn just about anything into a weapon. You can also combine various items to make some very interesting weapons. Using combined weapons also earn your character additional experience points and allow you to level up much quicker.
Even though this third instalment has been improved, there are still some issues. The controls remain loose, and players still have difficulties picking up items; the on-the-fly inventory selection has been improved however. Another issue is that the game can lag when you are moving your character around quickly. Overall, if you are a fan of the Dead Rising series, this instalment will not disappoint.
